This course is designed for students who already have a solid understanding of handgun fundamentals and are ready to move beyond static shooting. Students will begin with dry movement and positional work before progressing into instructor-controlled live-fire exercises. The emphasis throughout the course is: CONTROL BEFORE SPEED. Students will learn how to safely move between predetermined shooting positions, work around barricades, manage different shooting heights, and maintain accuracy while operating in a more dynamic environment. COURSE LENGTH Approximately 4–5 hours. RANGE REQUIREMENTS Designed specifically for a handgun bay with approximately 15 yards of usable depth. The course works best with: • 3–5 designated shooting positions • 2–3 barricades • Cones or floor markers • Multiple paper or steel targets, as permitted • Clearly marked movement lanes EXPERIENCE LEVEL Intermediate. Students should already demonstrate: • Safe handgun handling • Reliable loading and unloading • Consistent grip and stance • Basic accuracy • Safe presentation from the range's approved starting position • Basic recoil control • Ability to follow range commands Students who cannot demonstrate safe gun handling should not progress into the live-fire movement portion.
